Enchanting Summer Holidays in the Dolomites
In summer, Kronplatz is a popular destination for the whole family, as well as for hikers and mountain bikers. From the top you get a wonderful view of the peaks of the main alpine ridge and the surrounding Dolomites. We recommend the recently opened Messner Mountain Museum on the summit of Kronenplatz. The Pusteria Valley and its offshoots offer a host of summer attractions: beautiful mountain lakes, the uplands of Plätzwiese in the Braies Dolomites, upland hiking in the pastures of the Gsieser Valley and the historic town of Bruneck with its numerous shops. Well-signed walks, hiking trails and climbing routes simply invite excursions in the fresh mountain air. For families we especially recommend the summer toboggan run ‘Fun-Bob’ at Innichen, the climbing rope course at Toblach, or the nearby panoramic swimming pool of Olang. Throughout the season there is a rich and varied cultural and culinary program that offers, amongst others, the traditional ‘Standlschmaus’ street cooking in Olang, or sporting events like the ‘Dolomites Super Bike’ at Niederdorf. A summer stay in the Hainz House at Gassl in Olang is always fantastic!
